Why did Drift choose Logic Pro over ProTools?

Drift originally ran Cubase VST 5, but the studio was rebuilt from the ground up in 2004. At the time, Apple's acquisition of eMagic (and as a result, Logic) made it an attractive option, since Drift has always relied on the quality of Apple's hardware, and Logic supports almost all DAW vendors' products. Digidesign, however, locks out most third-party DAW products, requiring the use of their own DAW hardware. From a flexibility and upgrade standpoint, ProTools did not make sense.

We keep an MBox and ProTools LE on hand for artists that request mixing be done in ProTools or artists that already have a project started in ProTools. Most of the time, conversion to and from Logic is a fairly straight-forward process.
